Review of the Altair Student Workshop in Boeblingen – Sept 1-2, 2017 in Boeblingen

On September 1st – 2nd, Altair hosted the annual „Altair Workshops for Student Teams” in Boeblingen. The office was packed with more than 100 enthusiastic students and teachers, eager to learn more about composites, lightweight design, electromagnetic behavior and motor control.

The student workshop is the annual kickoff to the Formula Student, Eco-Marathon, Solarcar and other sponsoring challenges. Altair provided an insight to a wide range of topics, giving these classes:

  • Modeling and Simulation with HyperMesh and OptiStruct
  • Embedded Control of Electrical Drives using solidThinking Embed
  • Modelling and optimization of a Clip and a Wheel Knuckle / Upright using solidThinking Inspire
  • Determining Drag and Lift Coefficients with Virtual Wind Tunnel
  • Composite Design using Altair HyperWorks
  • Crashbox Simulation using Altair RADIOSS
  • Simulation of Electromagnetic Compatibility using FEKO
