In this video series the following simulation topics are addressed:

  • 1D meshing
  • 1D property defintion of the tube cross section
  • modeling of suspension (with rigid links)
  • definition of three loadcases (shear, bending, torsion)
  • analysis
  • postprocessing

as well as fine tuning of the cross section properties by means of

size optimization with respect to

      • continous inner and outer radius
      • discrete inner and outer radius
      • discrete wall thickness (i.e. size optimization with a requested wall thickness)

Please note, that the load cases, geometry of the frame, the dimensions of the 1D element cross sections, material parameters et cetera, are just conceptual!
